So honestly I’ve been waiting for tour to start for a bit now… I had the itch to play shows really bad as of late and couldn’t wait to get back out on the road and rock out with my brothers. Our first day (technically) was supposed to be in Tucson but the “spring fling” got rained out so they had to cancel the whole event. That day turned into a jam session with our new guitarist Brandon, our tour manager Justin, and our merch guy Mike. It was a hell of allot of fun just fuckin around for 5 hours with a few people i never get to play music with but are amazing musicians! (make sure you check out down by fire)
So Sunday passed and Monday rolled around. We headed up to Flagstaff for the first official day of tour and headlined at the Orpheum Theater. Sound check went smooth and then off to the mall! HAHA ok i know what your thinking but no, we actually were going to a radio interview and the radio station was in the mall… crazy i know. The radio interview was awesome and for those of you who follow me on Facebook or Twitter (or one of the other 20+ social networks I update) you saw all got to see the photos and such from the interview as it was happening. So we left radio and headed over to Hot Topic for a signing where we met some fans which is always awesome and from there it was food and back to the venue.
Now, its Monday, so i was skeptical about the turn out for the show but WOW 400+ kids showed up to party with us on a MONDAY night! Nothing cooler than playing on a week day, especially early in the week and having a great crowed! ***On a side note i would like to add that Mikey is sitting behind me reading a book and his feet smell! hahaha I’ve been telling him to break out the Fabreze!!! So we took the stage last night and the show was GREAT! The kids reacted like a tornado hitting the ground at full speed. Circle pit here, flying kid there, crowed surfers everywhere, all we needed was that cow that fly’s by in the movie twister and the night would have been complete!
All in all it was a great first day of tour, we all had a blast and I personally want to thank Flagstaff for showing the love on a Monday night.
